CLEVELAND CLINIC RESIGNATION
February 10, 2006
Eric Topol, a cardiologist at the Cleveland Clinic who helped the nonprofit hospital become a top-ranked heart facility, is resigning after a fallout with the institution’s top official, reports The Wall Street Journal. According to people familiar with the matter, the relationship between Dr. Topol and Delos “Toby” Cosgrove, the clinic’s chief executive, fell apart over conflicts-of-interest issues related to research work at the institution. Neither Dr. Topol nor the Cleveland Clinic confirmed his departure. (A paid subscription is required to view this article).
