Former President Bill Clinton has become a visible presence in the fight against AIDS, reports The New York Times.
Mr. Clinton’s foundation, whose budget last year was $30-million and mostly came from private donors, is involved in projects with 24 developing countries.
The projects include raising money to place nurses in rural clinics in Kenya and training hospital managers in Ethiopia. The organization has also made significant headway in buying drugs for thousands of sick children and has negotiated deep price cuts for AIDS medicines.
