Former President Bill Clinton announced Tuesday that his foundation would focus on climate issues over the next year as part of a new program to fight global warming, reports The New York Times.
With a $3-million grant from Barbra Streisand, Rupert Murdoch, and Anson M. Beard Jr., an investor in New York, the foundation has formed a partnership with the Large Cities Climate Leadership Group, led by the mayor of London, to work on reducing emissions of heat-trapping gases in cities. Mr. Clinton said the purpose of the group will be to create a consortium through which cities can economically buy energy-saving products.
