Two international donors have pledged at least $100-million each to support sustainable-development efforts by Bill Clinton’s nonprofit organization, reports Forbes magazine.
Carlos Slim Helu — a Mexican investor and the world’s second-richest man, with $49-billion — pledged $100-million to the Clinton Giustra Sustainable Growth Initiative, which will work with private companies to deal with social, economic, and environmental issues as they relate to sustainable growth. Last year he poured $1.8-billion into one of his foundations, and announced he will donate as much as $10-billion over the next four years to support health and education programs.
Canadian entertainment and mining magnate Frank Giustra also pledged at least $100-million and half of his future natural-resources earnings.
