CLOTHES TO KATRINA VICTIMS
February 2, 2006
New York will donate fake designer clothing confiscated in police raids over the last two years to charities helping victims of Hurricane Katrina, reports the Associated Press. Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg announced that fashion designers at Nike, Phat Farm, Rocawear, and other labels have agreed to give away the counterfeit goods, valued at millions of dollars, rather than have them destroyed. The clothing will be distributed next month through aid organizations that have yet to be announced.
