CNN Plans to Direct Audience to Charities

June 22, 2007

CNN will begin directing its audience to charities related to the news items it reports, according to the Associated Press.

The news network has set up a Web site that includes contact information for charities in several categories, including refugees, homelessness, poverty, and natural disasters, the AP reports. CNN will mention the site when news stories appear that are related to these issues.

CNN is working with Charity Navigator, a watchdog group, to determine which groups deserve a mention.
