Colleges Graded on Environmental Effort
January 24, 2007
A new “report card” says most colleges are not modifying their endowment policies to take into account environmental concerns, reports The Chronicle of Higher Education.
The “College Sustainability Report Card,” released by the Sustainable Endowments Institute in Cambridge, Mass., grades 100 public and private institutions that together hold roughly 75 percent of all endowment assets in higher education. The colleges are graded on a range of issues beyond endowment investments, such as whether they have green buildings.
The report is available on the organization’s Web site.
