COLUMN: ABRAMOFF’S CHARITY
January 25, 2006
A Washington Post column by Marc Fisher focuses on Eshkol Academy, a Jewish boys school founded in 2002 by the lobbyist Jack Abramoff, who is currently facing multiple federal investigations, according to his lawyers. The academy abruptly closed last spring as Mr. Abramoff’s lobbying activities began drawing the attention of investigators and teachers at the school never received their last few paychecks, about a quarter of their annual pay. Thirteen former employees are suing Mr. Abramoff and his wife, the sole benefactors of the school, to recoup the money.
