Controversy Over Radio Personality Sparks Interest in Questions About His Charity

April 12, 2007 | Read Time: 1 minute

Jack Siegel, a Chicago lawyer, reports that his Charity Governance blog has seen its traffic quadruple this week in light of the recent scandal involving the radio personality Don Imus.

Mr. Siegel has written three previous posts exploring allegations that have been raised about spending, management, and accounting issues at Mr. Imus’ well-known charity, the Imus Ranch. Mr. Imus has denied any wrongdoing.

Mr. Siegel says his blog usually receives spikes in traffic whenever there is a major fund-raising effort on the part of the Imus Ranch. But Mr. Siegel reports the recent wave of attention toward Mr. Imus has created a similar increase in interest in the charity that bears his name.

The Imus Ranch’s 990 form is available on the GuideStar Web site.
