Cornell University Receives $25-Million Donation for Life Sciences

Peter Meinig, chief executive officer of HM International, a Tulsa, Okla., management and holding company, and his wife, Nancy, announced over the weekend that they are donating $25-million to Cornell University, in Ithaca, N.Y., to support life-sciences research at the university.
The money will establish the Nancy and Peter Meinig Family Investigatorships in the Life Sciences, and researchers will have access to approximately $300,000 per year for five years.
Mr. Meinig is the chairman of the Cornell University Board of Trustees. The couple has donated to the university in previous years. Ms. Meinig graduated from the university in 1962 and Mr. Meinig in 1961.
