Christopher Goldsbury, former president of Pace Foods, which makes Pace picante sauce, has given $35-million to the Culinary Institute of America, reports The New York Times.

The gift will support the expansion of the institute’s Center for Foods of the Americas, in San Antonio, as well as construction of a center devoted to the teaching of Latin American cuisine at the school’s main campus in Hyde Park, N.Y., and scholarships for students wishing to attend the center in San Antonio.

Mr. Goldsbury was previously married to Linda Pace, the daughter of David Pace, founder of Pace Foods. He became president of the company in 1977 and later sold Pace to Campbell Soup for $1.1-billion.
