Darfur Aid Workers’ Deaths on the Rise
August 9, 2006
More aid workers have been killed in the embattled region of Darfur, Sudan, over the past two weeks than in the previous two years, reports The New York Times.
Eight aid workers, all of them Sudanese, were killed in July in attacks across the region, the United Nations said. The violence has limited the scope of aid work, preventing assistance from reaching tens of thousands of people.
