October 5, 2006
Donald Saltz, a retired business journalist who made a fortune through prudent investing, gave $5-million to the Adas Israel Congregation, in Washington, in honor of his wife, Mozelle, who died last year, reports The Washington Post.
The gift is one of only eight gifts of $5-million or more to a U.S. house of worship since 2000, according to the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University.
