Denver Museum Trims Staff by 14 Percent

April 11, 2007

The Denver Art Museum, which opened a new expansion and suffered revenue hits in recent months, announced this week it would accept the resignations of 30 employees and eliminate eight positions, reports The Denver Post.

The resignations came after an offer of a voluntary buyout two weeks ago, and with these changes, the staff will be reduced by 14 percent, to 230 people, the paper reports.

The departure of these staff members was part of a mid-year evaluation that chopped $2.5-million, or 10 percent, from the museum’s annual budget, a spokeswoman said.
