The Foundation Directory, 2000 Edition
Edited by David Jacobs
This 22nd edition profiles 10,492 private, corporate, and community foundations that hold assets of at least $3-million or that award $200,000 or more each year.
According to the Foundation Center, those grant makers — representing fewer than one-fourth of all active U.S. foundations — manage more than $359-billion and donate $18-billion annually, or 92 percent of all foundation giving.
Individual entries provide the grant maker’s contact information, financial data, types of support provided, application information, and a sample of recent grants. The entries are organized by state. Information is indexed several ways, including by donors, officers, and trustees; grant subject; and types of support given.
The Foundation Center also publishes The Foundation Directory Part 2, which covers more than 8,800 medium-sized foundations that hold between $1-million and $3-million or that give between $50,000 and $200,000 annually.
Both editions are available online and on CD-ROM.
