National Directory of Corporate Giving, Sixth Edition
Edited by David L. Clark
This new edition lists 2,568 U.S. companies that award grants to non-profit organizations. It includes profiles of 170 foundations and 189 corporate-giving programs not listed in the previous edition.
Each profile notes application guidelines, fields of interest, types of support awarded, grant-making restrictions, and financial data that include figures on assets and on the average size of grants.
According to the American Association of Fund-Raising Counsel Trust for Philanthropy, U.S. corporations and their foundations contributed an estimated $9-billion to non-profit groups in 1998, the last year for which such numbers are available.
The guide includes 375 companies listed in the Fortune 500. For companies that give more than $50,000 annually or that operate foundations with assets of more than $2-million, the directory provides a list of sample grants.
Indexes list grant makers alphabetically and by geographic region, fields of interest, types of support, and types of industry. Officers and trustees of corporate-giving programs are also listed.
