Donated Quilts Comfort Wounded Soldiers
February 1, 2007
Drawing on a long tradition of Americans donating quilts to wounded soldiers, an Army chaplain and an amateur quilter have distributed hand-sewn quilts to more than 7,900 wounded soldiers, reports The Washington Post.
Chaplain John L. Kallerson helped found the nonprofit group Quilts of Valor four years ago, and he often blesses boxes of quilts before they are given out.
