Donor-Advised Funds Gain in Popularity

Community foundations and investment firms are competing for donors by lowering their fees for managing donor-advised funds, improving online services, and making it easier to put money into such accounts, reports The Wall Street Journal.
According to a survey by The Chronicle of Philanthropy, assets in the nation’s largest institutions that oversee donor-advised funds grew by more than 20 percent from 2004 to 2005.
