The online auction site eBay will allow the sale of tickets for the Live Earth concerts in the United States and Britain, but sellers must donate 20 percent of the proceeds to charity, reports BBC News.
So far, more than 200,000 people have registered for the 60,000 tickets available for the British concert on July 7. An eBay spokesman said British resellers also will be urged to donate to Stop Climate Chaos or another environmental charity.
He said, “Although the charity will have benefited from the original sale of the ticket, we think it makes sense to use our charity fund-raising program to ensure that good causes benefit from the resale of any spare tickets on the site.”
