Charity affiliations: Served as president of the American Red Cross. Was a board member of Duke University. Volunteers at Sarah’s Circle, a District of Columbia center for low-income elderly people.
Spouse’s non-profit interests: Former Sen. Bob Dole, the 1996 Republican Presidential nominee, created the Dole Foundation for Employment of People with Disabilities, and served as its board chairman. The charity closed in 1998.
