The Goizueta Foundation has committed $25 million to support the work of Emory University’s Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, according to the Associated Press and a press release from the Atlanta university.

The gift will finance advanced research into early detection of the disease, helping scientists uncover ways to predict Alzheimer’s before symptoms appear and develop new treatments. The Emory center is one of 13 such facilities supported by the National Institutes of Health and the only one in the Southeast.
