The former executive director of a foundation affiliated with Los Angeles Trade-Technical College was arrested Thursday on suspicion of embezzling nearly $140,000 from the organization, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Jiah Rhea Chung, 43, was charged with public corruption, embezzlement, and forgery and is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday. She led the foundation, which raises money for scholarships for low-income students, from 2009 to 2011.

Ms. Chung was placed on administrative leave after an audit by the Los Angeles Community College District, according to which she received tens of thousands of dollars in bonuses from the foundation and used its funds golf outings and restaurant meals. The audit also alleged that the signature of the college’s then-president might have been forged on checks to Chung totaling nearly $100,000.
