The former executive director of a northern New Jersey community-development group was arrested Thursday on allegations that she stole more than $380,000 from the organization, writes The Star-Ledger of Newark.

Prosecutors said Lancie Marchan, 64, of North Brunswick, N.J. embezzled funds from the East Orange Revitalization and Development Corporation from 2005 to 2010, using the money for travel, casino visits, and other personal expenses. At the time ,the nonprofit group was working with a private firm to build federally funded low-income housing.

An indictment unsealed Thursday also charges Ms. Marchan’s twin brothers, Arthur Werts of Chesterfield, Va., and Artemus Werts, of Plainfield, N.J., with helping her steal and launder the funds. The brothers have not yet been arrested.
