The Stupski Foundation has named former W.K. Kellogg Foundation CEO Sterling Speirn as its new president, San Francisco Business Times reports. Mr. Speirn, a longtime community activist who left Kellogg last year, will oversee San Francisco-based Stupski’s planned spend-down of its $260-million endowment over the next decade.
The education-centered philanthropy launched by the late Charles Schwab executive Larry Stupski and his wife, Joyce, in 1996 closed as an operating foundation in 2012. It is transitioning into a grant-making entity focused on improving prospects for poor and minority children.
