Financier’s Estate to Award $120-Million to Charity

The family of Arthur Zankel, the financier who committed suicide in July, is expected to announce donations totaling up to $120-million from his estate today, reports The Wall Street Journal.
Among the largest gifts is a $40-million donation to Skidmore College, in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., to build a music center. Carnegie Hall, the New York music organization where Mr. Zankel was vice chairman of the Board of Trustees, will receive more than $22-million.
Additionally, the UJA-Federation of New York will receive $8-million, some of which will go toward a depression-treatment center.
