Focus on the Family Plans to Mobilize Evangelical Voters
August 18, 2006
Focus on the Family, a conservative advocacy group, said it plans to work with churches and other groups in eight states to mobilize evangelical voters in the November Congressional elections, reports The Washington Post.
The tactic has been effective in past elections, but the Internal Revenue Service has warned churches and other nonprofit groups that it is illegal to endorse specific candidates. Focus on the Family has said the voter-drive effort is nonpartisan.
