Former Boston U. President Receives $7-Million
May 10, 2006
John R. Silber, former president of Boston University, has received about $7-million in deferred compensation and other benefits from the institution since he left in 2003, reports The Boston Globe and The Chronicle of Higher Education. According to higher-education experts, the compensation is one of the largest of its kind.
The university previously reported Mr. Silber was receiving a deferred salary, but the full amount did not become clear until this week, when it was made public as part of the institution’s 2005 tax filing.
