Former CEO Accused of Swindling Charity

Gary Freund, the former president of a hospital fund-raising group, was arrested for forging documents and using an unauthorized bank card to embezzle money from the group, reports the San Francisco Chronicle.
The University of California at San Francisco’s Mount Zion Medical Center auxiliary, which was led by Mr. Freund until 2004, reported $165,000 missing from its funds.
Mr. Freund did not issue a comment for this article.
