Former Charity Employee Charged With Theft

Federal officials in Massachusetts charged a former secretary to the founder of the Children’s Glaucoma Foundation with stealing $500,000 from the foundation and the founder, reports The Boston Globe.
Prosecutors said Karen L. Sicher, 45, of Methuen, used the money to shop and gamble over a five-year period, the paper reports. Ms. Sicher’s lawyer did not speak to the Globe.
