Former Minn. Charity Leader Pleads Guilty to Theft

April 27, 2006

Sue J. Linehan—the former head of Rainbow R.P. Inc., a nonprofit organization in St. Paul that helped people with drug and health problems manage their finances—pleaded guilty on Wednesday to charges that she stole money from government aid checks meant for her charity’s clients, reports the Star Tribune.

According to one complaint, Ms. Linehan kept hundreds of thousands of dollars for herself and gave more than $200,000 to her relatives. Ms. Linehan was ordered to pay more than $575,000 in restitution, and could serve between four to six years in prison.
