Former Spelman College Provost Will Be Next CEO of Charles F. Kettering Foundation

Charles F. Kettering Foundation

Sharon Davies, who served as provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at Spelman College until last fall, will become the $383 million foundation’s president and CEO next month.

She will succeed David Mathews, who has been its leader since 1981.


Community Foundation for Southwest Washington

Matt Morton, equitable education director at the Meyer Memorial Trust, will join the $320 million community fund as president on April 18.

He will follow Jennifer Rhoads, who has led the foundation for 10 years and will stay on as an adviser for the next six months.

San Francisco Ballet

Danielle St.Germain-Gordon, interim executive director for the past nine months, will continue in the role permanently. She joined the performing-arts group in 2018 as chief development officer.

In addition, Tamara Rojo has been hired as artistic director. Previously she was artistic director at the English National Ballet.

Khalilah Burt Gaston, founder of the consulting firm Glidepath Strategies, will be the first executive director of the Song Foundation. This family foundation in Ann Arbor, Mich., was started by Dug Song, the co-founder of Duo Security, and his wife, Linh.

Pamela Ronka Maroulis, a principal consultant at Accordant, has been promoted to president of the consulting firm for health-care management. Its founder, Betsy Chapin Taylor, will continue serving as its CEO.

Marcelo Mena, director of the Climate Action Center at Pontificia Universidad and former minister of the environment of Chile until 2018, has become CEO of the Global Methane Hub. This charity was established last year with a commitment of over $300 million from more than 20 major funders.

Other Notable Appointments

Tahir Ahmad, manager of foundation relations at the World Food Program USA, has been tapped as director of institutional relations at the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights and the Leadership Conference Education Fund. In addition, Nadia Aziz has been appointed senior program director for fighting hate and bias. Most recently she was deputy director at the Arab American Institute.

Alex Howard, assistant vice chancellor of student affairs at Appalachian State University, will join the Dogwood Health Trust on April 18 as vice president of impact in health and wellness.

Sarah Inbau, brand manager for Huggies diapers at Kimberly-Clark Corporation, will be the first chief growth officer at Hand to Hold. This charity provides resources and services for parents of children who are hospitalized in neonatal intensive-care units.

Laverne Matías, director of employee experience and culture at the Kenneth Rainin Foundation, has been promoted to chief of organizational effectiveness.

Dan Mathews has been hired as director of events and special projects at Save the Chimps. He previously served as senior vice president at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals for more than 30 years until he departed last year.

Brendon Reay, co-founder of HarborHouse Partners, a consulting and private-equity firm, is now vice president of investments at the Maine Community Foundation.

Adam Robles has been named senior vice president of corporate social good at Fenton Communications. Most recently he was manager of corporate social responsibility, diversity, inclusion, and corporate culture at Hyundai Motor America.

Elizabeth Scott is now vice president of development at the New England Aquarium. Most recently she was director of development at the Nature Conservancy in Massachusetts.

Departures

Rosa Berardi, senior program officer at the Coleman Foundation, will depart on June 30 after 26 years there.

J. Todd Graham, president of the Cameron Foundation since 2012, plans to retire on December 31.
