Ralph Dickerson Jr., former president of the United Way of New York City, has agreed to pay the charity $227,000, the amount of the charity’s money that he spent on personal expenses in 2002 and 2003, reports The New York Times.
The organization has informed the New York attorney general’s office about its investigation of Mr. Dickerson’s spending, which shows charity funds going toward his dry cleaning, parking tickets, and hotel stays.
Mr. Dickerson does not face any criminal charges at present, but the United Way said it will investigate further into financial irregularities during his 15-year tenure at the organization’s helm.
The newspaper said Mr. Dickerson could not be reached for comment.
