Foundation and Corporate Giving to September 11 Causes

December 12, 2002 | Read Time: 1 minute

Giving in the Aftermath of 9/11: an Update on the Foundation and Corporate Response is the second in a series of research reports by the Foundation Center that details giving by approximately 1,000 foundations and corporations in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks. So far, corporations and foundations have pledged $1-billion for September 11 causes, the report says. In addition, the report shows how much was collected and disbursed by each of the 30 biggest charities collecting money to help victims of the attacks. To accompany the report, the Foundation Center has made available on its Web site a free database designed to help grant seekers find out what money pledged for September 11 projects has not yet been distributed, and to provide regularly updated information about trends in the distribution of donations.
