Four Organizations Win Internet Awards

The ePhilanthropy Foundation has presented its awards for excellence in nonprofit use of the Internet.

The March of Dimes, in White Plains, N.Y., won the award for best “community building, volunteerism, or activism campaign” for its Share Your Story Web site, which allows families of premature babies and people who were born prematurely to share their experiences and support one another.

The GreaterGood South Africa Trust, in Constantia, was honored for best online fund-raising campaign, for its Web site designed to encourage charitable giving and volunteering.

The Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization, in Austin, Ill., was honored for best event-registration or membership campaign for the online components of its “Y-ME Race Against Breast Cancer” and “Walk to Empower” events, which drew more than 27,000 participants.

Luth Research, in San Diego, won for best research project for its study of philanthropic behavior online, including two surveys on online giving.


A panel of six judges selected the winners from a pool of 55 nominations. Winners received a $500 donation to the charity of their choice.
