Fund to Support Jewish-Themed Projects

October 31, 2010 | Read Time: 1 minute

The Jewish New Media Innovation Fund will award $500,000 for projects that use video, social networks, and other online media to enhance Jewish life in the United States.

The fund is a joint project of the Jim Joseph, Righteous Persons, and Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family foundations. Individuals, charities, and for-profit entities are all eligible to apply. Entries are due November 22.

The new effort comes at a time when most synagogues have been slow to embrace the Web. In a study conducted this summer by Flint Springs Associates, 54 percent of synagogue officials said that their synagogue’s Web site offers only basic information.
