Grants From Juice Company Run Dry

Nantucket Nectars, the juice company that states on its bottles its support of “healthy and active lifestyles,” no longer makes grants through the company’s foundation, The Boston Globe reports.
An employee with the state of Massachusetts had hoped to help local charities win a grant from the organization, Juice Guys Care, which was created in 1998. But after he had trouble finding any contact person for the organization, he discovered that the group had not given money for at least two years.
Jessica Schoen, a spokeswoman for Cadbury Schweppes, the company that bought Nantucket Nectars in 2002, said Juice Guys Care “is still a legal entity, but it’s inactive at this point.”
Said Nantucket Nectars co-founder Tom Scott about the foundation’s inactivity, “I think it’s just a bummer.”
