New Grant Opportunities

The New York State Health Foundation is requesting proposals for grants through its special-projects fund, which supports nonprofit and for-profit organizations working outside its typical program areas of building healthy communities, empowering health-care consumers, and supporting veterans’ health. Eligible organizations must operate in New York State and can receive up to $400,000 for programs at the local, regional, or statewide level. Letters of inquiry must be submitted online by March 13, with invited proposals due May 16.

World of Children has issued a call for nominations for its annual awards recognizing nonprofit leaders who are working for better lives for vulnerable children through education, health, humanitarian, protection, and youth-helping-youth programs. The five awards offer cash prizes between $25,000 and $50,000, provided to each winner’s organization. Nominations must be submitted online by March 31.

A previous version of this story incorrectly stated a Knight Foundation matching grant to Columbia University’s Knight First Amendment Institute. The correct amount is $3.25 million, not $6.5 million.
