Growing Number of Charities Consider Mergers

A growing number of nonprofit organizations are merging in part because they have seen internal consolidations help groups such as the Girl Scouts of the USA and the American Lung Association, reports The Christian Science Monitor.

One nonprofit consultant in California said the number of inquiries to his office from charities that are considering a merger has increased 50 percent over the past two years.
