The 11 Questions Every Donor Asks and the Answers All Donors Crave: How You Can Inspire Someone to Give Generously, by Harvey McKinnon, offers advice on what potential benefactors are thinking. Each chapter focuses on a question — like “Will my gift make a difference?” or “How will you measure results?” — and explores why a donor may want to know such information, what ideas and misconceptions he may already have in his mind, and how fund raisers can satisfactorily answer the question. Mr. McKinnon, a longtime fund raiser, also presents anecdotes from his own experiences and those of his colleagues that illustrate the ideas he presents.
