Guide to Bridging the Corporate-Nonprofit Divide

June 1, 2005 | Read Time: 1 minute

Working With the Business Sector: Pursuing Public Good With Private Partners explores the potential for collaboration between the business and the philanthropic worlds. The guidebook gives advice on how private foundations can collaborate with corporations to finance projects of mutual interest, and enlist businesses to provide their expertise to nonprofit groups that a foundation supports. It also notes cases in which foundations and their grantees have worked with businesses to improve their employment policies and provide more opportunities for workers to volunteer. In addition, the guide offers ideas for how corporate foundations can encourage their companies to provide more money for charitable activities and advice on how corporations can be persuaded to fulfill social needs created by government policies.
