December 8, 2005 | Read Time: 1 minute

The Foundation 1000, 2005/2006 Edition, is a grant seeker’s guide to the wealthiest foundations in the United States. Produced by the Foundation Center, it provides information on 1,000 foundations that includes contact information, program interests, application guidelines, names of key staff members, and other facts. The guide also offers in-depth analyses of the foundations’ grant programs, as well as lists of grants they have recently awarded. The information is indexed by names of donors, officers, and trustees; program areas; types of support offered; and the geographic areas in which grants are made. Foundations that award money to overseas groups are listed in a separate index.
