Heinz Endowments to Make Fewer, Bigger Grants as Focus Narrows

The Heinz Endowments is shifting is grant-making to focus on learning, creativity, and making Pittsburgh more environmentally sustainable, reports the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Leaders of the city’s second-largest foundation hope to help Pittsburgh transition out of its industrial past and attract innovative businesses and their employees. The number of grants Heinz makes will shrink but the size of awards are likely to grow, foundation leaders say.
