Hillary Clinton Says Her Big Speaking Fees Go to Foundation

July 7, 2014 | Read Time: 1 minute

Hillary Clinton told ABC News Friday that she donates the six-figure fees she draws for speaking at universities to the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation.

“All of the fees have been donated to the Clinton Foundation for it to continue its life-changing and lifesaving work. So it goes from a foundation at a university to another foundation,” she said in an interview with ABC’s Ann Compton.

Ms. Clinton reportedly earns roughly $200,000 per speaking engagement. Students at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, last week asked her to give a $225,000 fee for a scheduled address in October back to the university. The flap comes amid increased scrutiny of the Clintons’ wealth and speculation that the former secretary of state, senator, and first lady will run for president in 2016.
