Hockey Star’s Foundation Gives $7-Million to Medical Center

April 26, 2006

Cam Neely, a former Boston Bruins hockey player, announced that his foundation would give $2-million to support a pediatric bone-marrow transplant facility and $5-million to improve the neurosurgery program at Tufts-New England Medical Center, reports The Boston Globe.

Improvements in the neurosurgery center will be named after Mr. Neely’s father, Michael, who died of brain cancer. Mr. Neely’s mother also died of cancer.

Since its inception in 1997, the Cam Neely Foundation has raised about $13-million.
