Hollywood Couple to Donate Baby-Photo Profits

The actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt yesterday announced plans to sell the first photos of their newborn daughter, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, and donate the proceeds to charities, reports Agence France-Presse.
The photos, which were taken last weekend in Namibia, will be licensed by Getty Images. The actors did not identify which charitable groups might receive the donations, but a joint statement from the couple highlighted the high numbers of infant mortalities in poor countries.
“While we celebrate the joy of the birth of our daughter, we recognize that two million babies born every year in the developing world die on the first day of their lives,” they said in the statement.
