Holocaust Museum Gets $20-Million to Fight Genocide

February 20, 2015

The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum announced a $20-million donation Thursday from the Samerian Foundation to support initiatives aimed at averting genocide, reports the Indianapolis Star.

The Indianapolis-based foundation, which provides grants for humanitarian projects, is led by Cynthia Simon-Skjodt, daughter of the late property tycoon Melvin Simon, and her husband, Paul Skjodt. The museum’s Center for the Prevention of Genocide has been renamed for Ms. Simon-Skjodt.
