Foundation Reporting: Update on Public Reporting Trends of Private and Community Foundationsdiscusses grant makers’ use of annual reports, print publications, and Web sites to share information with the public. According to the Foundation Center, the number of foundations that publish information about their giving activities increased slightly in 2003 compared with the previous year. Online information, however, increased by 23 percent this year. The study breaks down foundation reporting by organization size, type, and location. Highlights of the study are available free on the Foundation Center’s Web site. The full report can be obtained only through subscription to the center’s Foundations Today Series of research reports, which costs $95.
