Humanitarian-Aid Group BRAC USA Selects Next CEO

BRAC USA
Julia Roberts will be the next CEO of this humanitarian-aid organization that advances solutions to global poverty. Most recently she was vice president of global fundraising and communications at Population Services International.
Roberts succeeds Donella Rapier, who retired in February after eight years at the helm.

Connecticut Community Foundation
Kathy Taylor will become president and CEO of the $129 million community fund on June 17. She previously served as chair of the grant maker’s Board of Trustees, and is currently a professor at Connecticut State Community College-Naugatuck Valley.
Taylor will succeed Julie Loughran, who is stepping down after 10 years at the foundation, including six years as its leader.
Samuel H. Kress Foundation
Julia Marciari-Alexander has been hired as president of this $76 million foundation that makes grants to American museums and universities for the study and exhibition of European art, architecture, and archaeology. Her new role will begin in the fall.
Currently the executive director and CEO of the Walters Art Museum, Marciari-Alexander will succeed Lisa Schermerhorn, who has been the foundation’s interim leader since Max Marmor retired in December.

O. Richard Bundy III has been appointed vice president of advancement at the University of Cincinnati and president of the University of Cincinnati Foundation. Most recently he was vice president for development and alumni relations at Pennsylvania State University.
Eric DeWald, president of HealthPath Foundation of Ohio, has been named president and CEO of the Health Foundation of La Porte. He succeeds its founding CEO, Maria Fruth, who has retired.
Ralph Kuncl, president emeritus of the University of Redlands, has been named CEO of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra and Annapolis Symphony Academy.
Preston Pinkett III will step up as interim president and CEO of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation until a permanent successor to Tanuja Dehne has been named. Pinkett has served on the $308 million foundation’s Board of Trustees for 22 years, and has been its chair since 2019.
Operation Underground Railroad
This organization that provides support to survivors of human trafficking has expanded roles for its global leadership.
Kourtney Austin has been promoted from global director of survivor care operations to vice president for survivor care in Europe and the Americas.
Nate Davis has been promoted to senior vice president for global operations and survivor care, and will also lead its global operations team. He joined the charity in 2021 as deputy regional director of Asia.
Dodd DuPree, regional operations director for Europe, is now vice president for operations in Europe and the Americas. He will also serve as government liaison.
Dan Ogden, cyber-operations director, has been named vice president for cyber operations.
Katrina Mariswamy has been appointed vice president for survivor care in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Australia. Most recently she was regional director for survivor care in Asia.
Other Notable Appointments
Shantha Rau Barriga, founding director of the disability rights division at Human Rights Watch, has been named deputy executive director at the human-rights group Witness. In addition, Leandro Ramos has become its global programs director, based in São Paulo, Brazil. Most recently she was program director at Greenpeace Brasil.
Stephanie Cook has been appointed vice president for institutional advancement at the Pratt Institute. She was most recently vice president for development at the National Audubon Society.
Josh Green, director of development at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, has joined the Daniels Fund as senior vice president of its scholarship program.
Eason Jordan, founder and CEO of the communications firm Oryx Strategies, has been named senior vice president for connected leaders at the Rockefeller Foundation.
Anne Krause has been hired as senior vice president of development at Texas 2036, a think tank to advance economic development in the state. She is the co-founder and president of the Hemisfair Conservancy, in San Antonio.
Kenyon Mayeda, vice president of operations at the advertising agency TDW+Co, is returning to the Japanese American National Museum as its chief impact officer. He worked as a summer intern at the museum in 2004.
KellyAnn Nelson, director of donor engagement at the Field School, has been hired as director of development at the Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company. In addition, Casey Hayes-Deats will be its first director of finance. Previously she was general manager at the Contemporary American Theater Festival.
Christina Norman, former head of content at Think 450, has joined the storytelling organization The Moth as its first chief creative officer.
Josh Protas, vice president of public policy at Mazon: a Jewish Response to Hunger, has joined Meals on Wheels America as chief advocacy and policy officer.
Natalia Ángeles Vieyra, associate curator of American art at the Worcester Art Museum, has been hired as the inaugural associate curator of Latinx art at the National Gallery of Art, effective June 30. In addition, Lena Stringari will become the museum’s chief of conservation on July 14. Most recently she was deputy director and chief conservator at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation.
Ann Root Keith, interim chief advancement officer at Dartmouth College since September, will remain in the role permanently. She has worked in the college’s advancement department since 2002, most recently as chief operating officer.
Janet Wormack has been appointed chief financial and operations officer at the Steve Fund, a charity that promotes the mental health and emotional well-being of young people of color. Previously she was vice president of administration and finance at Salisbury University.
