The radio personality Don Imus has been suspended from the cable network MSNBC and CBS Radio following his controversial comments about members of the Rutgers women’s basketball team.
But his suspension will not begin until after he plays host to a radio auction for Tomorrow’s Children’s Fund, the CJ Foundation for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome research, and the Imus Ranch. The auction is planned for Thursday and Friday.
As a result, the anonymous blogger who writes Don’t Tell The Donor suggests Mr. Imus’ philanthropy might be conveniently helping his public image in the wake of the controversy.
Though the blogger notes that the Imus Ranch have also drawn controversy.
“Yes, that’s right, everyone loves the Imus Ranch, right? We are led to believe doing it immediately wouldn’t be fair for the poor sick kids,” the blogger writes. “I mean… it’s not as if his charity hasn’t been the subject of criticism in the past.”
