In Online Age, College Fund Raisers Find New Ways to Raise Money

As distance learning and the use of technology grow on college campuses, university fund raisers are concerned that students are not developing the kind of loyalty that often spurs philanthropy, reports the New Mexico Business Weekly.
In response, many universities are trying to create a sense of community online. One institution even had a “virtual homecoming” event to accompany homecoming weekend, as well as forming boards made up of students to encourage giving.
